• What is Lipo Lax VL?

Lipo Lax VL is a safe, effective fat dissolving injection treatment that reduces fat cells in the treated area. It produces long lasting results, which means you can banish those annoyingly wobbly bits.

Lipo Lax VL can be used to treat small, exercise resistant, pockets of fat around the chin, chest, abdomen and thighs. It is very effective for body contouring, but is not a treatment for weight loss.

Lipo Lax VL dissolves the membranes of fat cells in the treated area. The fat cells become unstable and break open. The fatty acids contained within the cell are then eliminated by macrophages (part of the body’s immune system) and the liver.

• How soon does it work?

 

Before beginning the procedure, the practitioner will perform an initial consultation with the patient to learn about their medical history, determine the problem areas, will perform the initial measurements, in addition to estimating how many injections per session and how many treatment sessions are needed to achieve the desired results.

The procedure will take place under sterile conditions, which eliminates the risk of infection. Lipo Lax is injected with the thinnest single-use needle into the subcutaneous fat of the areas requiring correction.

The process is no more painful than any other injection and, to make it as comfortable as possible, an anesthetic cream is used in most cases.

After the injections are administered, the patient will need to rest for about half an hour under the supervision of the fat dissolving practitioner. and drink at least 0.5 litres of water.

• How do I see the results?

 

After just one session of lipolytic mesotherapy with Lipo Lax VL, you can get rid of unwanted local fatty deposits, cellulite and flabby skin. After the third session, you will notice that the injection areas have decreased, local accumulations of adipose tissue in problem areas ("ears" on the thighs, sides, second chin, etc.) have disappeared and the skin in the treated areas has become smoother and elastic.

• Is this permanent?

​

Whilst the body can regenerate fat cells - the process is very slow. So once fat cells are removed from a localised area your results are as good as permanent. However, if you do not continue to maintain a healthy lifestyle then your body will put on weight in other areas of your body where fat cells remain.

• What is involved in treatment recovery?

​

Immediately after treatment you may appear red and swollen with some bruising on the treated area. Lipo Lax VL works by causing an inflammatory reaction in the fat cells which can result in swelling for 3-5 days. Therefore, if you intend to have a facial treatment, e.g. double chin where the swelling may be obvious, you may wish to organise time away from work or social engagements.

You will be able to reduce the swelling by using a cool pack wrapped in a clean cloth for a maximum of 20 minutes each day.  You cannot use anti-inflammatory tablets for 48 hours after treatment as this will work against the treatment. The treated area may feel tender and firm for up to 8 weeks post treatment.

During recovery we recommend that you avoid:

• Swimming pools, spas and saunas for 3 days.

• Physical exercise for 10 days.

• Any other aesthetic treatments for 2 weeks.
